Siphon Systems

Choosing the right solution for optimum performance will be very easy, if there is only a single rotary siphon or stationary siphon and a single set of operating conditions. In order to choose the best siphon system, calculations must be made carefully. By using the optimum siphon system, heat transfer rate increases and assures higher machine speeds and higher production speeds. Stability in the heat transfer rate will increase the quality of the product.

Generally siphon and rotary joint sizing thought to be easy. Actually all calculations must be taken in great care. If the system is calculated smaller, pressure drop in the cylinder will be very high and it won’t be possible to have sufficient flow to keep the fluid level lower inside the cylinder. Because of the high pressure drop, velocity of the medium will be very high. If the system is sized too high, energy will be inefficient; bigger and expensive systems will be needed.
