Rotary joints are used to transfer medium from stationary supply lines to rotating or moving machine parts. In addition, rotary unions can be designed with multiple flow passages and handle different media simultaneously. -Shaft; which rotates with the rotating cylinder and carry medium into the drum or roll.
-Seals ; are the hearth of the rotary joints. Seals prevent medium from leaking outside the rotary joint.
-Bearings; rotary joints are equipped with ball bearings or roller bearings or bronze bearings or graphite bearings. Bearings allow shaft or the housing to rotate.
-Spring; in conventional and balanced sealing systems sealing is assured with the force of the spring
-Housing ; is the component that holds all of the internal parts together. For single flow models has only inlet port, for dual flow models has inlet & outlet ports.

1-CONVENTIONAL SEALING SYSTEM
Conventional seal system is also called pressure type sealing; which sealing is assured with pressure and all forces applying on the seal faces.
According to application parameters, all seals are designed for min. seal wear on the sealing faces for longer life. Depending on the application and models; ROTOFLUID uses convex and concave seal rings which are self-aligning seals and made of proprietary materials.
2-BALANCED SEALING SYSTEM
Seal theory of rotary joints “when pressure on the seal faces increases, it will result tighter and better sealing". But when force on the seal faces increases, friction between seal faces increases resulting higher torque for rotation.
With Balanced Sealing System, the force on the seal faces kept min. regardless of the pressure of the fluid and lower torque with longer seal life is assured.
For smooth rotation, ROTOFLUID uses balanced mechanical seals.

ROTOFLUID uses o-ring & back-up sealing in most of the pneumatic & hydraulic rotary unions. O-ring is used for static sealing and teflon back-up is used for dynamic sealing.
Seal materials of the o-ring and back-up changes according to application parameters.
